As a community of learners, we at Wildwood Elementary School serve and appreciate all of our students and their unique academic, physical, social and emotional needs, providing them the opportunity to succeed at their highest potential.
In the area of expectations, Wildwood Elementary School has four “Building Blocks of Success” which are: honesty, respect, responsibility, and kindness The implementation of our mission statement and the “Building Blocks" have created success for all of our students. For the first time in the school's history, Wildwood Elementary School was named a California Distinguished School in 2012 and a CA PBIS State Coalition Silver Level Awardee in the 2017-18 school year, in large part due to our continued focus on our vision and mission as well as our commitment in working with students on our character traits. Our staff is committed to creating a learning environment capable of meeting the individual needs of every student who comes to us. The environment at the school is structured to provide safe surroundings,clear expectations for learning and behavior, and an opportunity for each child to connect to the school as an individual. Members of the Wildwood Elementary School staff have taken responsibility for the education of all students. Our staff and community believe that ALL children can learn. Therefore, we will continue to provide the necessary support to build success for our students to reach their individual potentials. Our school also fully embraces the framework and philosophy of Restorative Justice practices and Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS). We believe that all students can be successful socially and academically. Our school qualified and has applied for the CA PBIS Gold Level recognition this year and we have recently applied for Gold Level recognition status for next school year.
