Homework

Homework Directions

Each week your child will practice spelling words, reading and writing a small summary and math fluency. Homework should take NO more than 30 min. Bring all homework in homework folder on FRIDAY.

*MATH

Each day have your child practice  fluency for 5 min. (no need to finish the page) Each Friday in class they will do the fluency test on paper. Encourage them to grow and do more each day. When they get 95% or better on the test they will get a more challenging fluency page.  DO NOT TAKE THE SHEET OUT. Just use a whiteboard marker for practice and erase it each day.

*SPELLING

Each day your child will choose ONE way from the Tic Tac Toe Spelling Homework Sheet. See spelling list by date for the first trimester for their words to practice. Use the lined sheet in the plastic cover with a dry erase marker if your spelling practice requires writing.

*READING

Each day read either your library book or book from your book bag. Write 3 sentences in your journal to tell about the book. (If you are on a chapter book, just write about 1 chapter each day.
